Zaburi House

A Ministry of KE Resources

Finding

Gioto

Zaburi House is located in Nakuru, Kenya, East Africa. It is perfectly situated just outside this bustling city. In 2020, in the middle of the COVID outbreak, we asked our partners in Kenya who needed the most help. They identified the people living at Gioto Garbage Dump. Since 1971, multiple generations of families have lived and worked at Gioto, scratching through piles of trash to find food, clothing, and recyclable items to live.

KE Resources started feeding the people at Gioto once a week. We noticed there was no drinkable water, so we had a 5,000-liter water tank installed.

We noticed the children that live at Gioto missed school, did not have shoes, and some had never been to the doctor. Our International Children’s Sponsorship program was developed. We supply food, clothes, education, shelter, and medical attention to over 130 children.

We saw a need for preschool, and KE Learning Center, Gioto was born. It has expanded to include PP1, PP2, and First Grade.

The girls who live at Zaburi House wrote a song. It says

“May God protect Zaburi House. May it be an example for the whole country. May the people come to admire

what God has done

in Zaburi House.”

Visiting Gioto over the years we met grandmothers who were in their 30s. We started asking questions, and as we listened, our hearts broke. Zaburi House is the answer to those questions. We have secured a home, completed renovations, and outfitted it with beds and wardrobes to accommodate

16 girls, a Head House Matron, a cook, and a groundskeeper.

We have been blessed with God-sent staff who give motherly love

and faith-based wisdom to the girls living here.

A Safe place for at Risk Girls

More than a house, it’s a home!

Every girl has their own bed!

Zaburi House is outfitted with beds and wardrobes to accommodate 16 girls and 4 staff members.

Home cooked meals everyday!

Our girls eat locally sourced home-cooked meals everyday.

Forming Friendships!

Whether it’s during Bible time or learning crafts, we are building strong female friendships that will last a lifetime.

How You Can Help

A one time gift allows us to complete projects around the house and for the girls.

It’s easy to set up ongoing monthly support of the house and the day to day needs of our girls and staff.

Each year we take a sponsorship visitation trip to spend time with the girls and complete needed projects.

Ask how you can go with us!

Join us in daily prayer for our girls’ emotional, physical, spiritual, and mental health, as well as their ongoing education and medical needs.
